Gearing up for the Season

Greetings to everyone who likes saving, wind and being kind to children. When we last spoke we were talking an awful lot about season passes and wind turbines. If you were interested in the savings a season pass could provide you but procrastinated and did not purchase yours before the price went up well, read on, I've got another couple of deals for you. For those who did purchase a pass, passes will be available for pick up starting on November 20th at our Guest Service Desk.  The hours are: Monday - Friday  10:00am - 6:00pm; Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm; Sunday 9:00am – 3:00pm.

Along the lines of gearing up for the season, our snowmakers are ready to go and just waiting for a cold snap so they can fire up the snowguns for the season. If you're gearing up as well and want to lock in your Bolton Valley ski trip today, check out our great ski and stay packages.

If you have been following along in detail on the website and Facebook with the construction of the Wind Turbine at Bolton Valley, you can safely skip the next paragraph. However, if you have not been following closely, or if you have been following and are the type of person who likes to go to the ball game, get home, flip on ESPN to catch the highlights and then read about it in the paper the next day the next section may be for you.

Wind Turbine Project Update

It's done.

I was going to leave it at just that and put in a few links but decided I should give a small recap here. The Northwind 100 wind turbine project has been completed. The press conference was held on November 12th to officially cut the ribbon. We really did have a ribbon. The turbine is going to supply 1/8th of our power on an annual basis, about 300,000 kilowatt hours per year, that's enough to power 40-45 Vermont homes annually. It is located near the top of the Vista Quad, you can see it from the base area and ski right by it if you cut to skiers left off the quad and head toward the ski patrol hut and Cobrass. For more details you can read all the press releases and see photos of the installation on our website and on our Facebook page.

Powder Pass

Those with good memories will remember the Great Bolton Valley Skier and Rider Bailout Plan or as we called it in the biz The GBVSRBP. Ahh, memories. We decided to change the name up a bit and repackage it for this year. The GBVSRBP is now the Powder Pass and it comes in two varieties, the Snow Day and the Nor'easter. So, here's the deal; you can ski and ride for less than $48 per day for adults or less than $34 per day for youth. The Snow Day is loaded with two lift tickets while the Nor'easter has five lift tickets. The thing that really sets this apart from other similar cards is that you can use it to redeem multiple lift tickets in one day. So treat your friends and family to a day on the slopes. All the details, and yes some fine print, are here. Oh, you can also buy one online using that link.

Happy Holidays and a Benefit

We figured that there is a holiday for just about everything so why not a week long holiday celebrating skiing and riding? So we came up with the Happy Holidays promotion. From December 14th – 18th we drop lift ticket prices to an insanely low level. This year were selling one day lift tickets for just $15 per day during the Happy Holiday week. We're also donating $5 from every ticket sold prior to December 11th to the Vermont Chidren's Hospital at Fletcher Allen. But you have to buy online prior to December 11th. Once you do that you'll have a day of skiing to use anytime from December 14th - 18th and $5 of your purchase will go to a great cause. If you would like to stay with us that week you can get a slopeside room and a day of skiing for only $49 per person. That's right a room and a lift ticket for only $49. And, part of what you spend on your lodging package is donated to the Vermont Children's Hospital. It's your classic win, win; you win, the children win.

Time to get going, we got the big Boston Ski and Snowboard Expo this weekend. So if you're reading this and you are going to be in the Boston area this weekend, swing by the Bayside Expo and come by our booth to say hello. We'll have new stickers, new buttons and some show specials for you.
